Zucchini – Cocozelle

Our zucchini will be available as single plants ( in 4 inch pots) in early June.

Cocozelle is an Italian heirloom zucchini dating back into the 1800s.  Fruit are dark green with light green stripes. It performs well for us, but you do need to keep an eye on the cucumber beetles.  Transplanting larger plants does seem to help the plants fight through the damage.  I’ve also read inter-cropping other species can also help slow down the beetles.  A variety of herbs and flowers are commonly relied on for this function.

Our seed is open-pollinated and comes from Fedco.
