Description

Another tomato that will be new to me this year, Sun Gold is a cherry tomato which always seems to get rave reviews.  Johnny’s describes them as ‘Exceptionally Sweet’ and Territorial seed describes them as ‘fuity and tropical’.  I typically don’t go for F1 hybrids, but this one I wanted to try.

Sun gold is an indeterminate tomato but not open pollinated as I mention above.

Previously, I’ve grown Gardener’s Delight cherry tomatoes which are both delicious and prolific, but this is another tomato (like Cherokee Purple) where the seed is hard to get this year. We’ll grow Gardener’s Delight, as well, if we can get some seed for the taste test.

Our tomato plants come as single plants in 4″ pots ready to plant.

We’ll be sowing tomatoes in late March to have them ready for pickup in the end of May or early June.   Plant tomatoes in the garden after last frost, so for us that’s 5/30 – 6/6
