Parsley, Flat leaf – Italian Giant

Flat leaf parsley or Italian parsley is best for cooking since it can hold its sweet flavor during cooking better then the curly varieties.

Parsley is a biennial and fairly cold hardy though in the second year the plant will focus on flowering and leaf use is limited.  Parsley seed is also edible and is used as a spice as well.

This year, our parsley seed comes from a fabulous little seed company in Ireland,

Parsley doesn’t love being transplanted, so we grow these in a single 4″ peat pot.  The entire pot is planted and breaks down.  This keeps the parsley roots undisturbed.
